Fat Quarter Friday: Reversible Bib

This week's fat quarter craft is a quick and easy reversible bib.

Materials:
2 fat quarters
Some batting
Velcro or a snap
Needle and thread

Step 1: On the wrong side of your fabric, trace around a bib that you already have that fits your baby nicely (adding an extra 1/4" for your seam), or use my template here.
Cut out your bib pieces, you should have one from each of your fabrics and one from the batting you use. Your batting should be a thinner batting as opposed to a thicker one.
Step 2: Layer your bib pieces as shown here. Lay out one fabric face up, on top of that put the other fabric face down (so that right sides are together), finally put the batting on top.
Step 3: Pin your bib sandwich together and sew around the edge with a 1/4" seam. Leave a 2-3" opening at the bottom. You can clip the rounded edges of your bib if you want, but you don't have to.
Step 4: Find your spot that you left open and put your finger in between the two fabrics. Using a turning tool (a knitting needle, crochet hook, or something else similarly long and pointy) turn your bib right sides out.
Hand stitch closed the hole at the bottom and then do a top stitch around the entire bib using a 1/8" seam.
Step 5: Position your velcro or snaps and attach. I used a small zigzag stitch to go around my velcro.
You're done! Enjoy your new super cute (and tasty) reversible bib!

  1. Awesome! I just made one very similar to this today...but apparently mine isn't as tasty. Little Man didn't eat it at all. I see several adorable bibs in Little Man's future.
