Fat Quarter Friday: Fabric Fridge Magnets

This week I made these cute little fabric fridge magnets. These are simple and you can make them any shape that suits your fancy. Plus it up-cycles all those hideous free magnets that companies send out into something you actually want hanging on your fridge.

Materials:
1 Fat Quarter
Magnet
Mod Podge
Step 1: Using a foam brush, brush on some mod podge to the front of your magnet.
Step 2: Slap it down onto the wrong side of your fabric. Turn it over and smooth it out making sure there are no air bubbles.
Step 3: Trim around the magnet. You may want to use a darker color fabric or a more heavy duty fabric since you can see through the thinner ones. It looks worse in the picture than it does in real life.
Step 4: Put a layer of mod podge on top of the fabric. I think a glossy mod podge would look really good, but I only had the matte stuff, which still looks good.
Step 5: Let your mod podge dry and then cut out the shapes you want your magnets to be. Make them somewhat large since these free magnets are usually quite week, so you want them to be able to hold up your papers. If you want to trace shapes, a thin sharpie will write well on the back of the magnet.
Admire your awesome handiwork! I think it looks kind of fun!
